Manager Public Works & Utilities- TOWN OF REGINA BEACH

The Town of Regina Beach is accepting resumes for the position of Manager of Public Works & Utilities to work on a full time permanent basis.

Primary Duties:

In concert with the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) the Manager will develop long term, high level planning objectives that support the Town’s overall Strategic Plan.  In addition, the Manager, working with key staff in Utilities and Public Works, will oversee Public Works and Utilities operations, being responsible for the following:

  • Provision of technical advice and the planning, design and implementation of infrastructure projects.
  • Supervision and workload management of Public Works & Utilities staff
  • Prioritizing, recommending and implementing activities to ensure the safe and efficient management of the Public Works and Utilities

Essential Qualifications:

  • Degree in Civil Engineering or Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • A minimum of 10 yrs. managerial experience in a related position
  • A minimum of 2 yrs. supervisory experience
  • Knowledge of management practices essential to municipal maintenance department operations
  • Must be extremely well organized and have the ability to manage and prioritize
  • A demonstrated relationship builder both within and outside an organization
  • Must have a strong Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) background and commitment
  • Proven success in delivering high quality projects on time and within budget
  • Proven ability to prioritize work activities, identify potential problems, recommend corrective action and implement necessary actions.
  • Must possess the ability to communicate effectively with a variety of groups and individuals in a professional manner
  • Computer knowledge and experience with Microsoft Suite of products
  • Must hold a valid class 5 Driver’s Licence
  • Must be able to provide a recent criminal record check

Asset Qualifications:

  • Experience in operating machinery or willing to take necessary training to obtain equipment certifications

Part-time Office Administration Clerk

The Town of Regina Beach is accepting applications for the position of part-time Office Administration Clerk.  Hours of work will be Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. There will be additional times of call-in during periods of vacation and short staffing.

Reporting to the Acting CAO, the duties include but are not limited to: providing customer service; responding to enquiries from the general public; liaising with staff; processing payments; maintaining the Town’s data base; assisting with digital communications; ordering supplies; and, coordinating material for regular council meetings.

Candidates must demonstrate the following qualifications: strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to treat matters in confidence; organizational skills; be a team player; able to work efficiently paying attention to detail; and, be able to prioritize his or her workload.

Experience with Microsoft Office programs such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint are required. Experience handling monies is considered a strength.

Experience working in a Municipal Government environment or completion of a post-secondary program in office administration is an asset.

The wage range for this position is between $16.24 per hour and $19.74 per hour.
