A driven and strategic leader, Victoria MacDonald has built a successful career in both the public and private sectors through maintaining her core values of courtesy, integrity, and perseverance to achieve quality results with a focus on employee empowerment and customer service. Using her decade of experience on a national board of directors and nearly two decades of senior management experience, Victoria brings a high level of understanding and comfort in strategic planning, capital planning, and operations management. Most recently as the CAO for the Town of Grenfell, Victoria was instrumental in aligning the Town’s operating budget with Council’s strategic priorities and developing a ten-year focus on the capital plan for asset management and achieving long-term strategic goals.
Her municipal career began in the northern Town of La Ronge in 2013. In addition to overseeing the Town’s municipal operations for 30 employees and administering two regional entities as CAO, Victoria also played a critical emergency management role during the 2015 wildfires that caused the evacuation of the entire tricommunity area. Victoria worked closely with other municipal and First Nation’s officials and administration staff while staying in the joint Emergency Command Centre as Coordinator.
Prior to her municipal career she was the CEO of Churchill River Enterprise Region, a regional economic development corporation that served an area of 122,300 square kilometers and a population of over 19,000. Victoria has served on many multi-jurisdictional boards and committees and enjoys building a close working relationship with the neighboring First Nation’s bands where the communities she works and lives share the Treaty lands. She is a Certified Administrator through the U.M.A.A.S Urban Board of Examiners. Victoria
completed a Master of Arts degree in Applied Economics and Policy Analysis at the University of Regina in 2013. Additionally, she holds a Bachelor of Arts in Combined Economics and Business Administration from the U of R and a Certificate in Hospitality, Tourism and Gaming Entertainment Management through the First Nations University of Canada.
Victoria and her husband, Shawn were born and raised in Regina and together they have two young children. Prior to COVID, travel was a passion, and she enjoys continuous learning, writing, and spending time outdoors and with her family.
