Roads
Grading & Pot Holes:
Road grading is completed on town roads prior to dust suppression, and on an as-needed basis after.
Pot hole patching is done as needed. To report a pot hole, please submit a Service Request.
Dust Control:
Dust suppression is applied once annually. All roads are graded prior to the application. Public Works is able to apply small quantities of suppressant, and to do localized touch up applications as they deem necessary.
Snow Removal & Sanding:
Public Works completes road clearing and sanding in a priority sequence. Different equipment is used on different roads.
Centre Street and school bus routes are cleared first. The remainder of the roads and lanes are then completed systematically. The Town removes snow windrows in front of driveways only. The entire frontage of a property will not be cleared.
To assist the Town, please be mindful of the following:
- The Town's equipment has the right-of-way at all times
- Please avoid parking on streets and make sure road allowance is kept clear
As per the Nuisance Abatement Bylaw 05/2016 do not push snow from your property on to any municipal road.
"No person shall place or leave on or within any municipal road any earth, stones, snow, rubbish, fences, or other objects without the express permission of Council."
The Town appreciates resident reports of any areas that need attention. These may be submitted via a Service Request.
