Water Service

Requests for a turn on or turn off can be made by:

• Online Service Request
• Emailing the Town Office
• Calling the Town Office at 306-729-2202

The property owner, or a representative, must present during the turn on or off. The Public Works & Utilities employee will not complete the turn on or off if there is no one present, and you will then be required to reschedule an appointment. The property owner or representative must be able to provide access to the water meter and a shut off valve at the time of the turn on or turn off.

Appointments are scheduled using a block booking system.  No specific times are given.

• A.M. block = 8:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
• P.M. block = 12:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.

*SEASONAL WATER LINES:

• May 1st through to September 30th is the water connection (turn on) and water disconnection (turn off) period for seasonal water lines. • If May 1st falls on a weekend day, the turn on date will move to the Friday before.
• If September 30th falls on a weekend day, the turn off date will move to the Monday following.
• If the turn on or turn off date must or can be changed due to extenuating circumstances or favourable/unfavourable weather this will be determined by resolution of Council.
• It is the consumer’s responsibility to request the turn on or turn off date each year no later than 3 p.m. two business days prior to requested turn on/turn off date. Availability of requested date is not guaranteed.
• If the Town office does not receive a request from the property owner to schedule a turn off date, there will be a $10.00 administrative charge applied to the respective utility account. Turn ON requests cannot be scheduled sooner than MAY 1st each year.  It is the property owner’s responsibility to request the turn on date each year no later than 3:00 p.m. two (2) business days prior to requested turn on date. Please note that availability of requested date is not guaranteed.

• 5,000 gallons or less:  $141.40 minimum
• Over 5,000 gallons:  $28.30 per 1,000 gallons

Lagoon Infrastructure Fee 

• Minimum quarterly fee - $31.00 plus 5.5% of quarterly water charge

Accounts are due upon receipt.  If an account is not paid by the end of the month following the month the utility notice is issued a penalty of 1%, compounded interest per month, will be applied on the 1st of each month:

• 1st Quarter Billing Jan 1-Mar 31 – interest begins June 1
• 2nd Quarter Billing Apr 1-Jun 30 – interest begins Sept 1
• 3rd Quarter Billing Jul 1-Sep 30 – interest begins Dec 1
• 4th Quarter Billing Oct 1-Dec 31 – interest begins Mar 1

Unpaid arrears may result in discontinuation of service.  Service will be restored once all arrears and turn off and turn on fees are paid in full.

Turn On/Off Fees 

Turn on water service fee:  $30.00
Turn off water service fee:  $30.00

Turn on and turn off services outside of regular working hours will be carried out in Emergency Situations only - the fee for after hour Emergency call outs will be a minimum call out rate of $100 plus Public Works & Utilities Department current labour rate of hours required (minimum 1 hour) to rectify Emergency.
