Proposed Residential Development Process

Residential Development ProcessAll proposed development must have the Development Permit Application approved PRIOR to the Building Application being reviewed (in most cases).  Construction CANNOT begin until the Building Application has been approved and a Building Permit has been issued.

An information package is available for applicants with some of the zoning requirements and fees.

All proposed residential developments submitted must include the following:

If new single detached dwelling, addition to single detached dwelling, basement/foundation development, detached garage submit the following:

  • Development Permit Application, along with:
    • all proposed plans
    • geotechnical report (if required)
    • Real Property Report (Surveyor’s Certificate) showing the proposed site plan, click here for an example
