Call for Committee Volunteers
Your Town of Regina Beach Council has been reviewing all Committees of Council to better align their purpose, scope and authority. As a result of our review, we have an additional Advisory Committee, the Community Engagement Committee. Chaired by Councillor Metz and co-chaired by Councillor Rommens, the purpose of this committee is to:
· Work as a focus group to identify methods and techniques to improve how we are engaging our community
· Act in an advisory capacity to the Town Council and Administration in recommending potential community engagement opportunities
· Serve as social media ambassadors by promoting our social media
· Identify and foster partnership opportunities with local business and cultural groups in the marketing and promotion of the Town of Regina Beach
· Collaborate with business and community organizations in the development and maintenance of a robust economy.
We will be meeting six times a year (bi-monthly) on the first Thursday of each month at 11:00 am with the goal of completing the meeting within an hour. Priority will be given to virtual zoom meetings whenever possible.
The committee will be made up of 2 councilors, 2 town employees; the Parks and Rec Coordinator and the Communications Officer, as well as members at large.
We are now looking for a maximum of 5 community members to serve on this committee. These meetings will always be open to the public to be active participants; however, only formal members of this committee will have voting rights.
If you are interested in being a formal committee member, please call Sandi Metz at 306-737-2720 at your earliest convenience. Our first meeting will be Thursday, April 7th at ll:00 a.m.
