Councilor Barry Wasnik

It is with heavy hearts that the Town of Regina Beach Council recognizes the passing of Councilor Barry Wasnik. In 2020, Barry ran successfully in our municipal election. He was a long-time resident of Regina Beach, an elected community leader, a friend and a colleague who will be dearly missed. Although sadly with our Council for a short time, Barry fostered positive relationships around the Council table to help guide and build Regina Beach.

Barry’s years of experience with the Regina Beach Landfill and his volunteer history of working with such organizations as Carmichael Outreach, Souls Harbor Mission and others made him a choice Councilor for many. No one could question Barry’s will to make improvements and his dedication to represent the residents of our town. He cared passionately.

Before his passing Barry sat as council representative on the Regina Beach Parks and Recreation Board, as his big heart for the children was obvious and appreciated by all who knew him. Barry asked Mayor Vollman to please pass on his thank you to all the residents for allowing him to represent them. He hoped he did you proud. Indeed he did.

As we say goodbye to this man of kind heart and conviction we send our deepest sympathies to his family and many loving friends in this and surrounding communities.
