Municipal Election Information

The Town of Regina Beach is governed under the provisions of the Saskatchewan Local Government Elections Act. The last general municipal election took place on October 26, 2016. The current Mayor and Council Members will complete a 4-year term that ends in November 2020.

If a Councillor resigns from their position, a by-election must be held to fill the vacancy, unless the vacancy happens in the year of a general election.

The next general Municipal Election will be on Monday, November 9, 2020 with the Advanced Poll on Sunday, November 1st.

Public Notice is hereby given that nominations of candidates for the offices of:

Mayor:          Town of Regina Beach
                     Number to be Elected: 1(one)

Councillor:    Town of Regina Beach
                     Number to be Elected: 6 (six)

will be received by the undersigned on the following days:

1. During normal office hours of 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. from the 14th day of September, 2020 to the 6th day of October, 2020 at the Town of Regina Beach.

2. And on the 7th day of October, 2020 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Town of Regina Beach Office.

Municipal Governance 101 is a series of free virtual sessions designed for potential municipal election candidates and those that want to learn more or refresh their knowledge of municipal governance.

Municipal elections are scheduled for November 9. Have you thought about running for municipal council?

Municipalities of Saskatchewan, the association that represents Saskatchewan’s hometowns, including the Town of Regina Beach, is offering free virtual sessions on September 1 and 9 to anyone interested in learning more about being on municipal council. In the first session, learn about the role of council, what your responsibilities are as a councillor, and more. The second session is a virtual town hall where you can ask a panel of individuals experienced in municipal governance your questions.

On September 1 at 6:30 p.m., join residents from other Saskatchewan towns, villages, and cities for Municipal Governance 101: Introduction to Local Government.
