Spring Road Maintenance
After a sometimes brutal winter, spring’s warmer weather comes as a welcome relief….except for what it does to the roads! It is prime pothole season, and while a pothole can form at any time of the year, they really “spring up” after winter.
Staying on top of potholes can sometimes be a full-time endeavor. Just as one gets repaired, two jump up to take its place. Please have patience while our crews work on the spring road maintenance throughout the Town.
Smaller potholes, the kind we see on 5th Ave that create chatter as you drive over them cannot be removed without a major grading in the road, and they will re-develop within a matter of hours.
Larger potholes that hammer out can be filled and we will get to those ones as quickly as we can. This will be a daily task. If you do find a large pothole (5cm or deeper or more than a meter around) please call or email the town office (306-729-2202 or [email protected]).
A more thorough cleanup of the roads will be completed once the thaw is complete & the work will stand up for the summer.
Drive carefully, slowing down if approaching a disturbance in the road. And please watch for crews repairing potholes or any other road maintenance tasks & slow down when travelling through their work zone.
