Councillor - [email protected]
As one who likes to be active and help out where I can, I’d like to join the current town council to learn more about how council operates and new opportunities for me to pitch in.
I started coming out to Regina Beach in 1977 when I was dating my husband, Brian. We moved out here full time in 1985 because we love the lifestyle. We’ve been blessed to raise our seven kids out here, and they are all very grateful to have been part of small-town life with the recreation opportunities Regina Beach provides.
I began teaching with the local school division in 1980, starting with 2 years at Edenwold, then 8 years in Lumsden. In 1990 the Regina Beach school was opened so I was able to transfer from Lumsden to South Shore. Our eldest was a student in the first Kindergarten class and I was privileged to be the teacher. I was blessed to continue long enough to teach all seven of our kids, and all their classmates still feel like family to me. I’ve remained part of the School Community Council even after retirement, and am thrilled that former students stayed out here to raise families, and now run that council.
Over the years, I started the kids’ soccer program, ran the baseball program, developed and ran the RB Yacht Club kids’ program, became a board member of Last Mountain Lake Drifters snowmobile club, as well as a board member of the Waterfront Improvement Committee.
I’ve attended most all of the town council meetings for the last 7 years and really admire council’s hard work, success and progress. I would be honoured to be able to contribute my energies towards keeping the beach a great place to live. I’m excited by all of the former students returning/staying to raise their families, which results in perpetuating this special community. With that in mind, I’d like to help ensure that our infrastructure and programs evolve and grow with the population, in order to enhance and support the extraordinary lifestyle Regina Beach has to offer
